We just got back from a weeklong vacation at the beach.
It was fun, but Max was difficult. Especially during the first few days. We think he was overwhelmed by all the sand and water and people and noise. He even had trouble with the beloved pool, and the place we went had four of them.
He just couldn’t be pleased.
We decided to take another trip to the beach after all the fun we had in Charleston earlier this summer. But if he acted the way he did the first half of this vacation in Charleston, we never would have gone back to the beach this year.
It was tough.
By Wednesday, though, he found his stride. He challenged his limits in the surf, floated in the waves and enjoyed the sand. And, he discovered new ways to get in and out of pools.
Meanwhile, we discovered how great the BOB stroller worked at the beach. It gently carried him and all our stuff back and forth from the beach, pool and tiki bar while he napped.
He was a happy kid. We were happy parents. And, overall, it was a good trip.
